Things You’re Too Afraid to Google About Your Car

April 10th, 2019 by

Everyone has questions that they are too afraid to google. I’ve put together a list of the strangest things I’ve wondered about my car and finally decided to Google them and ask a real person.

Q: How Often Should I Wash My Car?
A: You need to clean the outside of your vehicle every week, and the interior only needs a good clean every three months if you keep up with taking out the trash and don’t spill anything. Try this Stain Removal Guide from the American Cleaning Institute or use the one below to tell you exactly how to remove even the strangest of stains.

Q: Why does my car smell musty?
A: This means it’s time to change your air filters. You can do this yourself or you can request it during your next oil change.

Q: How many post-its do I need to cover a car? Rolls of Cling Wrap?
A: You need 4000 post-its or approximately 40 packs, size depending, and 3 rolls of cling wrap (or about 600 ft of the wrap.)

Q: How do I remove bird droppings that have baked on the car?
A: Spray Club soda onto the spot and rinse off. If it has been baking too long, it can damage the paint. I suggest that if birds frequent your vehicle to wax and seal your vehicle’s paint regularly.

Q: Why do birds keep pooping on my car?
A: If you are parking underneath trees or in areas close to a bird’s home, you are more susceptible to attract bird droppings. Avoid parking in areas where you see plenty of birds and park underneath a cover or in a garage.

Q: How do you hotwire a car?
A: Hotwiring cars are now a thing of the past. It is dangerous and damages the vehicle, while new vehicles are often too difficult to even attempt.

Q: Is it safe to drive down a snow-covered hill in my car like the ones in commercials?
A: Unless you’re a professional driver with an ambulance waiting for you at the bottom, I suggest avoiding it at all costs.

Hopefully, these have answered some of your burning questions about your car. Remember that your service advisor is always ready to answer even the silliest of questions.
